Keep Our Families and Workers in SF: Rent Relief Programs and Tenant Resources in the Age of COVID-19

Join the San Francisco Renters Alliance for a panel discussion with tenant advocates and community leaders on COVID-19 eviction protections and rent relief financial assistance. For renters, learn about your resources and your rights.

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed the housing market in San Francisco as we know it, leaving a long list of uncertainties for renters in the City today. While San Francisco is working to reopen and build a new normal for our community, many renters continue to face the burden of preexisting rental prices at above-market rates and the threat of displacement based on their ability to make on-time rental payments in full after over a year of increased unemployment and financial hardship citywide.

That’s why tenant advocates and community leaders throughout the City are coming together to ensure every renter knows their rights and has access to the resources they need in order to keep families and workers in San Francisco.

About the panelists: Assemblymember Chiu chairs the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee and authored the state’s COVID-19 eviction protections. Reese Isbell is a former San Francisco Rent Board commissioner, representing tenant interests. Josephine Alioto is a tenant rights attorney, and is a board member of the San Francisco Eviction Defense Collaborative.
